Critical Motor Failure: Recently, a local customer contacted Sunset to resolve a critical gearmotor failure resulting in production downtime. Sunset Industrial arranged for four gearmotors to be shipped overnight to the customer to get them up and running as quickly as possible.

Damaged Shipment: Upon receipt, however, Sunset and its customer learned that two units were damaged by UPS during transit.

Sunset contacted UPS for a resolution only to learn that UPS wanted to send a representative to inspect the units and see what caused the damage, a process that was going to take a week. Plus, there was an additional THREE to FOUR-WEEK process to determine if credit was to be issued!

The client didn’t have that kind of time to wait.

Sunset then contacted the manufacturer to see if they could help. But due to an inspection and part replacements, it would take at least two weeks to resolve the matter.

The Sunset Solution

Knowing the customer was down and could not afford to lose another day, the Sunset Industrial Service Team stepped into high gear (pun intended). Gearmotors were picked up from the customer that same day and the damaged parts were identified by the Sunset team.

Replacement parts were then shipped in overnight and the gearmotors were repaired and delivered to the customer within 24 hours of identifying the issue.

Outcome:

Customer installed the gearmotors, production resumed, and day was saved!
